Reliable Dumpster Rentals for Roofing Professionals

Expert Solutions for Residential + Commercial Roofing Jobs

redbox+ Dumpsters is the ideal partner for roofing contractors and their crews. Roofing projects move fast and generate a lot of waste. To keep the project moving efficiently, you need a roofing dumpster rental that can keep up. We’ll deliver your roll-off dumpster, place it near the building where roofing debris can be thrown in directly from the roof, and service the container as often as you need us to while the job is ongoing. Even better? Our patented 2-in-1 roll-off dumpster and portable toilet rental combination takes convenience, comfort, and efficiency to the next level.

  • Considerations for Roofing Dumpster Rentals

Although most of our roofing dumpster rentals are for roofing contractors, we’re here to help commercial and residential customers who need to secure the right dumpster to keep their roofing project moving efficiently. Three of the main factors to consider when choosing a roofing dumpster are materials, roof size, and weight of roofing waste.

    Roofing Materials We Accept

Roofing shingles are one of the heaviest housing materials to dispose of, and redbox+ Dumpsters can help you discard those as well as other additional roofing materials. We accept the following in our roofing dumpsters:

    • Shingles
    • Felt
    • Lumber
    • Nails
    • Terracotta Tiles
    • Concrete Tiles
    • Slate Tiles
    • Cedar Shakes

Estimating the Right Roofing Dumpster Size

Because roofing waste is so heavy, it’s often better to rent one of our smaller dumpster sizes and have us empty it multiple times rather than opt for a larger capacity container that will get too heavy before it’s even full. The average residential roofing project uses a 20-yard roll-off dumpster, but to calculate the best dumpster size for your specific roofing project, you’ll want to figure out both the total area of the roof and the weight of the current roofing materials.

    Measuring your roof
100 square feet of shingles = 1 roofing square
In roofing, the standard unit of measurement is a “roofing square.” You’ll want to measure your roof in square feet first, and then convert that into roofing squares. Also, check how many layers of shingles are currently on your roof. If the roof has more than one layer of shingles that needs to be removed, multiply the original number of roofing squares by the number of layers.

    Consider the weight of materials
Some types of shingles are heavier than others, and different sizes of roll-off dumpsters have different weight limits. For example:

    • 3-tab shingles are your standard asphalt shingle – they generally weigh about 250 pounds per roofing square.
    • Architectural shingles, on the other hand, are larger – they weigh closer to 400 pounds per roofing square.

A 20-yard dumpster has an average weight limit of 4,000-6,000 pounds, which works out to be about 2,500-3,000 square feet of single layer standard shingles. If you are close to a dumpster’s capacity when estimating the weight and amount of your roofing materials, we recommend going up a size since you’ll have additional waste aside from the shingles.

Not a fan of math? Prefer to leave the roofing + dumpster calculations to the professionals? No problem! The waste removal experts at redbox+ Dumpsters are here to help. Simply call our team to discuss the specifics of your roofing project. We’ll help you select the right size and type of dumpster to meet your needs.

Roofing Dumpster FAQs

What Our Customers Say

WE LOVE WHAT WE DO & WE LOVE HELPING YOU!

  • The last year we stayed home more than ever like everyone else and made us realize we really needed to declutter and just get rid of old clothes, furniture, and the last carpet we had left. We thought just our regular waste bins would do but we were wrong. As soon as we started cleaning out on a Saturday morning with just one room, we realized we needed to call a dumpster service. Redbox plus really came through with one of their smaller ones and they even taught us about what we were allowed to throw away in their dumpster and what wasn’t. All we had to do was call them to pick up the dumpster after we were done and that was it!

    – Jodie C.

  • A home roofing contractor we liked disappointed us a bit when he didn’t come prepared with a dumpster for all the waste. We googled for the best local dumpster rental and found Redbox+. The job was going to take all week, so the porta potty combo was probably the most convenient one for us. We called in the morning and the rolloff was here by the afternoon! Really recommended and they even took care of both the waste in the container and the toilet. Awesome service.

    – Ralf H.

  • Can’t say enough good things about redbox plus. We were really doubting even going through with our landscaping renovation because we were told we would need to rent a container for several days, but their customer service made it as easy as just telling them when what and where. They answered any questions we had and it ended up making the entire project finish ahead of schedule.

    – Xavier M.

  • Finally got to do the bathroom remodeling we have been planning for years and our contractor recommended redbox +. We really thought there wasn’t much to a dumpster rental company and that all of them were the same, but recommendations are good so we went with them. I can’t imagine ever even thinking about anyone else again for dumpster rentals! They’re red, clean, and their midsize ones are really appropriate for residential areas. Customer service was great too.

    – Rebbeca S.

  • We rented one of their toilet and dumpster combos for the extra room we were building at home. But we forgot who was going to take care of the…waste in the toilets. They didn’t need any reminding from us. They came the same day, cleaned it out with their neat pump and vac system, at no extra charge, and properly disposed of everything. We didn’t have to worry about a thing, only paying them.

    – Carol T.

  • We didn’t have a big budget after a fire damaged our garage and part of our living room and we needed to get to work quickly on repairs. Worrying about all the waste from the fire damage was the last thing on our minds. Redbox + really came through. Affordable, they got here right away and helped us with separating what we could throw into the dumpster and what we couldn’t (you can’t just dump a burned garage door motor anywhere).

    – Marcos K.
