Affordable Dumpster Rental: What to Look For

Are you looking to get a dumpster rental for your next home renovation project? Taking care of debris, junk and waste is an important step in any renovation process. But with varying prices and options available, it can be difficult to know what dumpster to rent or which services are best for the job. In this blog post, we provide advice on how you can save money while ensuring quality service when renting a dumpster.

What Size Do You Need?

Ranging from a compact two-yarder to a gigantic 40-yard dumpster, there are sizes for all jobs. For our rental options, we have the 10-, 20-, 30-, and 40- yard sizes. Small-scale dumpsters that are under 10 yards are perfect for businesses such as apartments, hotels, and restaurants.

A 10-yard dumpster can hold the equivalent of around three pickup truck loads of debris, or about 10 cubic yards of material. This size is suitable for small renovations or cleanouts.

A 20-yard dumpster can hold up to about six truckloads of debris, or around 110-130 trash bags. This size is good for roofing, small construction projects, landscaping projects, or flooring removal.

A 30-yard dumpster can fit about nine truckloads of debris and is suitable for complete house cleanouts, major remodeling jobs, or large landscaping projects.

A 40-yard dumpster, which can hold about 12 truckloads of debris, is suitable for large house cleanouts, huge remodeling projects, and roofing jobs.

What You’ll Pay

Numerous factors contribute to the overall cost of renting a dumpster; from size and length of the rental (which can defer depending on type and weight of debris) right through to dumping fees that in some cases may depend entirely upon location or even rate charged by company (fixed/variable rates).

There are a few other factors to consider when estimating your cost. For one, it’s important to make sure you don’t overfill the dumpster, as companies may charge overflow or overloading fees. You may also need to get a permit from your city or homeowner’s association if you plan to put the dumpster on a public street or sidewalk or in your driveway, which can add a small cost.

Choosing the Right Dumpster Rental Company

When choosing a dumpster rental company, be sure to ask about their pricing and fees, the size and availability of their dumpsters, their policies on overfilling, and their permit requirements. You should also ask about their pickup and delivery schedules and their customer service policies.

redbox+ Dumpsters of Montgomery County has all four of the most common sizes available for rent and offers same-day pickup and delivery for those who underestimate the size of their dumpster.
